Description
The Fronius Wattpilot is the intelligent plug-and-play charging solution for all electric car drivers. With the Fronius Wattpilot, every electric car driver can decide how they want to charge their vehicle. In combination with a variable electricity tariff, this is particularly cost-effective.
Cost-effective charging with variable electricity tariffs
In order to keep the operating costs of an electric car low, the electricity used to charge it should be as cheap as possible. This is possible with the Fronius Wattpilot and variable electricity tariffs .*
A variable electricity tariff is based on the flexible prices of the electricity exchange. Electricity prices are usually cheaper at night when there is less demand . With the Wattpilot and the associated app, you can charge your electric car when the electricity price is particularly low .
Simply set the maximum amount you want to pay for charging and the intelligent charging box will do the rest.
Recharge your own solar power – with PV surplus charging
E-mobility makes a lot of sense for anyone who has their own photovoltaic system . This is because electric cars can be charged particularly sustainably and cost-effectively using self-produced solar power.
The Fronius Wattpilot ensures that as much solar power as possible that is not currently needed in the household is used for charging. With the help of PV surplus charging, the intelligent charging station uses even the smallest amounts of surplus solar power to charge the electric car.
This not only makes charging cheaper , but also means that less of your own solar power flows unused into the public grid . A win-win situation: higher self-consumption of PV and faster amortization of the solar system.
Requirements for PV-guided charging:
- Fronius inverter (in the network)
- Fronius Smartmeter
- WiFi at Wattpilot
Intelligent charging modes for maximum independence
The Fronius Wattpilot offers maximum flexibility with its two charging modes . These can be set either directly on the device or via the Solar.wattpilot app .
Eco Mode
Eco Mode is the ideal charging mode for anyone who has a photovoltaic system . In this mode, excess energy from the solar system is primarily used, and for the rest, if necessary, electricity from variable electricity tariffs is used. There is no cheaper way to charge your electric car.
Next Trip Mode
Next Trip Mode is ideal if you need planning security for your next trip. In this mode, you can set when the car should be fully charged for a certain route. The Wattpilot then charges the car with the required amount of energy up to the desired time, depending on the possibility of cheap PV surplus , variable electricity tariffs or normal mains electricity .
Everything in view with the app: Solar.wattpilot
The Solar.wattpilot app guarantees all users of the intelligent charging solution maximum flexibility and overview.
- Easy commissioning of the Wattpilot with the app
- Clear presentation of all charging data
- Changing charging modes possible from anywhere
- variety of setting options
Advantages:
- Compatible with variable electricity tariffs
- PV surplus charging via 1-/3-phase switching
- Intelligent charging modes
- RFID authentication
- Standalone app Solar.wattpilot
- The Wattpilot Home is a stationary charging solution and is permanently mounted in one place (using a 5-pin cable).
Why is there a Wattpilot 2.0?
The Wattpilot 2.0 was developed due to a normative change (IEC 61851-1:2019 and IEC 62752:2016). This standard only affects the manufacturer. The previous version of the Wattpilot 2.0 may still be sold and used.
What changes does the Wattpilot 2.0 bring?
The Wattpilot 2.0 is produced with a newly designed housing that ensures a higher IP protection (IP 55 instead of IP 54). The WLAN range has also been improved. In line with our sustainability strategy, more components from Europe are used to avoid long transport routes. All known software features such as PV surplus charging are still available on both the Wattpilot 1.0 and the Wattpilot 2.0.
